On another note...a cry for help.
I and a few others here at Griffith University (Gold
Coast) are researching and creating text and new media
art for locative based systems (GPS software, place
specific digital works accessed by PDAs). We
anticipate a national (Australia and others?) database
of location specific works, tagged with gps data. This
would be a national archive that anyone could access
and then plug into some gps software and read in a
specific place. And while we have the GPS software
conquered and the artistic/written side is being
created and asked for, we don't have the archiving
database skills. Would anyone be interested in helping
us create (and apply for grants to create) a national
gps digital art/text databse?
cheers, Jason
